Purpose of Scholarship

Annual award to provide a unique educational experience to graduate students who have an interest in ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy decisions affecting those resources. The Fellow will be matched with a "host" in the Washington, DC area. The program is sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NAOO).

Applicable Field(s) of Study

Students pursuing research projects that are related to ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes resources or to national policy affecting those resources.

Eligibility

Any student, regardless of citizenship, who, on April 6, 2005 is in a graduate or professional program in a marine or aquatic-related field at a United States accredited institution of higher education.

Description of Award

A stipend of $32,000, plus an allowance of $6,000 for health insurance and moving expenses. The fellowship period runs from May 2005 - April 2006
