Purpose of Scholarship
Created in 1991, NSEP awards undergraduate scholarships and graduate
fellowships to American students for study of world regions critical to
U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe,
Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East).
Description of Award
Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 for an academic year's study
abroad. Boren Fellowships provide up to $30,000 for language study and
international research.
Deadline Information
The application deadline for the Boren Fellowship is January 30, and the
deadline for the Boren Scholarship is February 13.
