Graduate Departmental Requirements

In addition to the items required by International Admissions, Graduate students must meet their department's graduate requirements before a final decision can be made.

Generally, the graduate department requires at least the following additional materials:

  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose
  • Resume/curriculum vitae

Some graduate departments may also require a departmental application, data sheet, or other requirements. Most Graduate departments will be unable to consider an application until all requirements have been met. Since UNT offers more than 150 Master's and Doctoral programs, you must contact your department for their specific requirements.

Additionally, you can view in-depth department requirements by visiting the Graduate School's Graduate Admission Requirements PDF page or the Admissions Section of UNT's Graduate Catalog.

Please be aware that only written notice from the Graduate Dean AND the office of International Admissions constitutes approval of admission. Informal correspondence or other information from departments or individual faculty members does not consitute admission to graduate studies.
