International Student TPEG

Purpose

The purpose of the International Student TPEG is to provide limited financial assistance to eligible non-immigrant international students on F and J visas at the UNT campus who demonstrate financial need in paying the estimated minimum tuition, fees, and other expenses for fulltime enrollment in UNT-only credit-bearing coursework. TPEG grants do not provide waivers of the out-of-state portion of tuition for international students.

Process

  1. Applications are processed on a prioritized category basis:
    1. Priority 1: Fulltime Undergraduate students paying out-of-state tuition rate
    2. Priority 2: Fulltime Graduate and second bachelor students paying out-of-state tuition rate
    3. Priority 3: Fulltime Undergraduate students paying in-state tuition rate
    4. Priority 4: Fulltime Graduate and second bachelor students paying in-state tuition rate
    5. Priority 5: Fulltime Graduate students paying in-state tuition rate with free UNT employee health insurance provided
  2. Applicants apply for both the Fall and Spring semesters with this one application. There will not be another general TPEG allocation during the academic year.
  3. Incomplete or ineligible applications will not be processed.
  4. Applicants will be notified of the results (award amount) by email.
  5. The Student Financial Aid and Scholarship Office will deposit TPEG awards into recipients' university accounts for the appropriate semester(s). Any deposited funds not used to pay debts owed to UNT will be refundable to the student upon request.
