Getting a Job on the UNT Campus

- Go to the International Advising Office, Room 171, Kendall Hall. Take your passport, I-94, and I-20 with you.
- Ask IAO to give you a letter saying you are authorized to work on campus. NOTE: Students with an F-1 or J-1 visa can request a letter of authorization to work on campus; students with a B-1, B-2, F-2, H-4 or WT visas cannot receive a letter of authorization nor a Social Security card.
- Take the letter of authorization to work on campus with you to the Social Security Office, along with your passport, I-20, and I-94, and complete the application for a Social Security card.
- You will receive your Social Security card in the mail 2 or 3 weeks after you apply.
