University Exchange Linkages

Main Content

At UNT the department of International Studies and Programs (ISP) is responsible for overseeing the process of establishing linkages with foreign institutions.

The International Education Committee, a faculty senate appointed advisory group, works closely with ISP to establish procedures for establishing agreements which benefit UNT and the foreign institution. Agreements may be established for a variety of opportunities and cooperation including but not limited to: faculty exchange, student exchange, exchange of materials, research participation and shared conference planning.

Linkages may be initiated by faculty and staff, approved by department chairs for submission to International Studies and Programs for final administration and maintenance of records. Procedures to create ongoing exchanges are approved by Provost Howard Johnson.

Agreements normally are valid for five (5) years; therefore, when considering an exchange relationship, please note that faculty involvement is the most critical ingredient in sustaining a successful exchange. Faculty must serve as the academic liaison between institutions and be the primary point person to monitor the balance and quality of the exchange.

The Study Abroad Center works closely with faculty to establish and monitor exchange agreements specific to student exchange.
