New I-20

You will need a new I-20 in the following cases. Please consult an international advisor.
- Initial entry and initial attendance at UNT. You must enter the U.S. with UNT's I-20 to attend school at UNT.
- If you have completed IELI or a degree program, and will continue in a new degree program.
- If you left before completing the semester and did not take incompletes.
- If you are out of the U.S. for more than 5 months.
- If you were suspended, we can only issue the I-20 for the semester that you will be allowed to enroll.
- If you are out of status.
- If you have worked without authorization (illegally)
- If you are transferring to UNT
- If you are transferring out of UNT, you will need a new I-20 from the new school.
