Researching International Education Systems and Institutions

Author(s)

The presentation and handouts found on this page were created to facilitate the easy availability of information on the educational systems of over 350 countries. This information was compiled with an emphasis on building a credentials and evaluation library for those working with international education materials.

The Powerpoint presentation should be useful to education advisors new to the field of International Education. This presentation includes information on the books, mailing lists, and websites I have found most useful for my student demographic, but it is not intended to be a complete list or the best list for everyone.

The handouts (in PDF and Word versions) are far larger and more detailed for all levels of experience. They include introductory resources on how to credentials, equivalency guides, and diploma mills. The emphasis of the handouts, however, is on the country-specific resources listed throughout the majority of the handout. The various sections are organized to provide information on: books and other paid materials, free official source material, and free unofficial source material. The official sources are listed to provide contact information and recognized institutions (when available). The unofficial information is more to offer information on the education systems and structures for those advisors without access to the paid materials on these topics.

These documents are works in progress so please feel free to contact me to identify broken links or new sources. More than anything, I hope you find them useful.
