UNT International has Student blogs! Read them for a students perspective on daily life at UNT and Denton Texas!

Hello, everyone! My name is Hannah, and I just started working on a master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on local government management. I also work in the UNT-International Recruitment Office as a graduate student assistant, which I love! I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, but I moved to Denton with my family when I was just three years old, so I consider Denton to be my hometown.
I just graduated in December 2008 with a B.A. from Ouachita Baptist University (a small liberal arts school in Arkansas) with a double major in psychology and French and a minor in political science. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hanging out with friends, traveling when I get the chance, camping at nearby Lake Ray Roberts, riding my bike around town, playing soccer and volleyball, seeing local bands play in Denton, and going to museums, plays, and concerts around the DFW area.

My name is Meghan. I’m the Student Counselor for IELI, which means I get to hang out with students and help them adjust to life in the United States. I also plan fun activities to introduce students to American culture and all the great wonders of DFW. I earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and international studies from Baylor University and then studied for my master’s in international communications on a Fulbright scholarship at the University of Leeds in England. I also studied abroad as an undergraduate in The Netherlands, so I know what it is like to be an international student.
I started this blog because I think there are a lot of cool things going on in IELI that people might not know about. Here’s where you can get the inside scoop on what life is like for IELI students.
